Antique French Armoured Boules

A wonderfully sculptural set of 5 armoured boules. Made in late 19th century France by hammering nails into a wooden ball, they would have been used to play the popular French game of Petanque.

It is unusual for them to have survived all these years of use in such remarkable condition. They look great piled in a group, inside an urn or even as paperweights.

Excellent condition for age and use, with just minor losses.
