A fine mid 19th century French oil on canvas depicting sheep and drovers next to a river in the Sezanne region of North East France. Circle of the Barbizon artist Constant Troyon - the original is in the Museum of Modern Art, Le Havre. Troyon is known to have painted numerous versions of this view and to have used others to help him maintain his output, including his friend Eugene Boudin. There is a signature lower right that we believe to be a pseudonym
