Description:

A very fine 19th century oil on canvas portrait of the Persian Sybil after the 17th century original by Italian Old Master Giovanni Francesco Barbieri, better known as Guercino. The original work is owned by the Capitoline Museum, Rome. Presented in a fine 17th century style frame.

Condition:

In excellent condition having been relined and conserved in 1992. The receipt for this work is included with the painting.
