Andre Lynen was born in Antwerp in 1888. He lived and worked most of his life in Nieuwport and Brussels and was an exhibitor at the Brussels Salon. A letter from Lynen to Thomas Cooper Gotch dated 18 January 1915 is held by the Tate Archive. Lynen died in Brussels in 1984.
