Hugh Frazer works mainly in oils.  His main subject matter is the urban environment and still life. He is particularly interested in the contrast between the old and new and the drama of light and shadow and the abstract shapes they create.

There is often a sense of stillness, suspense and foreboding in his work. Particular views are selected because they provoke a personal response and emotional reaction. He has exhibited frequently in major exhibitions in Ireland (RHA, RUA, Iontas) and has held two solo exhibitions in Brussels in 2007 and 2009.
