Very fine signed and dated 1878 English oil on canvas landscape depicting a figure crossing a stone bridge by Walter Scott Boyd. Excellent example of 19th century English landscape painting in excellent condition. Relined and conserved to a very high standard. Presented in a swept gilt frame.

Walter Scott Boyd was a painter of portraits and landscapes born in Newcastle upon Tyne, Northumberland, the son of a postmaster. Two works by this artist are held in the National Art Collection, including an extensive landscape view of Dudley in the West Midlands.
